How To Make The Most Of Your Invisible Braces

2 min read

Teeth aligners and invisible braces in Dubai are great way to fix teeth misalignment and other dental issues that is less invasive. For patients who prefer non-surgical treatments, these are the perfect alternative.

But for this treatment to work, you need to ensure that you follow what your Hollywood smile dental clinic in Dubai told you to do to ensure that you will get the full benefits of this treatment. Here are the things that you need to do when you start wearing invisible braces:

  • Follow the 48-hour rule

After the aligners are fitted, your orthodontist would probably instruct you to wear your dental gears for at least 48 hours straight. Take this advice to heart and do not take off your aligners unless you need to brush it. The first 48 hours after the aligners are fitted is crucial since you gums and pearly whites would need to assimilate to the dental gears. You can expect pain and discomfort, but try to manage it by not speaking too much.

  • Commit to wearing it

After the first 48 hours, you can give your pearly whites a breather. You can take it out to eat and brush.  But be sure to wear it religiously. Orthodontists advise dental patients to wear their aligners at least 22 hours a day to get its full benefit. It would speed up the alignment of the teeth and your teeth and gums would get used to the dental gear if you wear them too often.

  • Floss and keep it clean

Flossing is an essential part of dental hygiene and very important when you are wearing aligners. If there are food debris stuck between the teeth while you are wearing your aligners, you are increasing the chance of contracting tooth decay and other dental issues. Be sure to clean your teeth and floss your pearly whites every after meal and before wearing your aligners.

  • Update your aligners

During your monthly dental appointments, your orthodontist will check the progress of your treatment. Once the dental practitioners see some movement, they would recommend to update and change your aligners to further progress the treatment. Sticking with your old aligners would only hamper your treatment.

  • Practice talking

You might find it hard to talk straight in the first few days of wearing your aligners. Do not get disappointed and disheartened. Try to practice speaking and soon enough, you will get the hang of it.
